Play Begins Monday in Jerry Pate National Intercollegiate

BIRMINGHAM – The better collegiate golfers in the country are gathered in Bimringham to compete in the University of Alabama’s Jerry Pate National Intercollegiate. The tournament field of 12 teams features top 10 ranked teams and golfers, including the NCAA defending national individual champion.
The tournament begins with two rounds on Monday, played at Birmingham’s Old Overton Club. Admission is free.
In the first wave of teams which tee off in the first round at 7 a.m. are Clemson, Southern California and Alabama. They’ll tee off at hole number one, followed at 7:50 a.m. on that hole by a wave which includes Georgia Tech, UNLV and Texas.
Teeing off at 7:00 a.m. on the number 10 tee will be Auburn, TCU and Wake Forest. At 7:50 a.m. the wave will include UAB, Arizona and Oklahoma State.
The second round will begin around noon on Monday. The third and final round will be contested on Tuesday morning beginning at 8:00 a.m.
