TUSCALOOSA – The Golf Coaches Association of America has honored two University of Alabama men’s golfers.
Senior Nick Rousey and freshman Clint Provost were named All-Region Southeast. The pair was instrumental in powering the Crimson Tide to postseason play as they both participated in all eleven tournaments for Alabama this season, including the 2002 NCAA Championships.
Both ranked among the top ten in the SEC in low stroke average. Provost emerged as Alabama’s low stroke leader for 2002. In 33 rounds, he averaged 72.42, including two tournament under-par finishes and eleven under par rounds. Rousey, a JUCO transfer who led Alabama in low stroke average last season, finished just a fraction behind Provost this season. Rousey averaged 72.61 in 33 rounds with four tournament under-par finishes and ten under par rounds.
