Tide Receiving Votes in Latest Golf Coaches' Poll

TUSCALOOSA – The University of Alabama men’s golf team’s fall 2004 success is gaining the attention of coaches from across the country. Alabama received rankings votes in this week’s Golf Coaches Association of America/Precept Coaches Poll.
The Crimson Tide rounds out its fall schedule Monday and Tuesday when it travels to Baton Rouge, La., for the October 25-26 University Club Intercollegiate. Alabama will join UAB, Arkansas, Auburn, Baylor, College of Charleston, Georgia Southern, Kent State, LSU, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, North Florida, SMU and Tulane in that field. Alabama has already played in four fall tournaments. Among its finishes are second place this past Tuesday at the University of Tennessee’s Coca-Cola Tournament of Champions and a third-place finish at Vanderbilt’s Mason Rudolph Intercollegiate. And, playing among a field that included eight of this week’s top 20 ranked teams (including numbers one through four), Alabama finished the October 11-12 Jerry Pate National Intercollegiate at 13 under par as a team.
