Alabama Rowing Finishes Out Regular Season at Murray State

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - The Alabama Rowing team closes out its regular season Saturday against the Murray State Racers in Murray, Ky.
The meet is scheduled to get underway at 7:30 a.m. weather permitting and will be held in Lebetter Bay on Kentucky Lake.
It will mark the second year in a row that the Tide has met the Racers. Alabama's inaugural home meet as a varsity program last season was against Murray State with the Tide coming away with a clean sweep. UA head coach Larry Davis and the 2008 Tide will be looking for a similarly strong performance this weekend.
"We want to finish up this portion of our season strong," Davis said. "We've been working on the little things that we need to be at our best when get into the championships season."
Alabama has enjoyed a strong spring season to this point, winning five of six races against Creighton, three of four against SMU, five of six against Drake and sweeping UNC in Chapel Hill.
After Saturday's meet, Alabama goes into the championship portion of the season, competing first at the Southern Intercollegiate Rowing Association Championships in Oak Ridge, Tenn. The Tide will close out its season with the Dad Vail College Championships in Philadelphia, Penn. in the second week of May.
