Women Fourth, Men 10th in Latest USTFCCCA South Region Rankings

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - The Alabama men's and women's cross country teams continue to hold on to spots in the top ten in the South Region in the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Regional Rankings, released Monday. The women fell from second to fourth while the men dropped one spot from ninth to 10th.
This past week at the Crimson Classic, junior Antibahs Kosgei led the men's team by finishing second in the 8k race, crossing the finish line at 24:17.47, and Conner Thompson finished 19th with a 13-second personal best of 25:04.75.
On the women's side, Katelyn Greenleaf led the way for the women's squad, as her time of 16:47.41 placed third in the University Women's 5k race. Junior Hannah Waggoner (13th, 17:22.70), senior Meropi Panagiotou (15th, 17:31.87), and senior Rebecca Stover (19th, 17:37.51) also placed inside the top 20.
Next up for both teams is the Southeastern Conference Cross Country Championships, which will be held on Friday, Oct. 30, at the Dale Watts Cross Country Course in College Station, Texas, the home of the Texas A&M Aggies.
