Alabama Women’s Golf in Third Place after Day One of the Ruth’s Chris Tar Heel Invitational

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – The Alabama women's golf team shot a three-under par 285 to sit in third place after the first day of competition at the Ruth's Chris Tar Heel Invitational on Friday at the par-72, 6,379-yard Finley Golf Club in Chapel Hill, N.C. Wake Forest is in first at six-under par (282), Ohio State is second at five-under par (283), Arkansas is fourth at two-under par (286) and North Carolina State is fifth at even par (288).
Individually, sophomore Lauren Stephenson is tied for second after a four-under par 68 in the first round. Sophomore Cheyenne Knight is tied for seventh at two-under par (70). Freshman Kristen Gillman is tied for 12th at one-under par (71). Seniors Cammie Gray (four-over par 76) and Mia Landegren (seven-over par 79) are tied for 57th and 86th, respectively.
Alabama will be paired with Wake Forest and Ohio State in Saturday's second round starting with Mia Landegren at 9:39 a.m. CT, followed by Cammie Gray (9:48), Kristen Gillman (9:57), Cheyenne Knight (10:06) and Lauren Stephenson (10:15).
