Alabama Men’s Golf Defeats Top-Ranked Oklahoma State, Women Fall to Stanford in East Lake Cup Semifinals

Crimson Tide men will face Auburn in championship match, while the women will take on Arizona in the consolation
ATLANTA – Alabama golfer Wilson Furr staged a dramatic come-from-behind victory to collect the match-clinching point and lift the No. 4-ranked men's golf team to a 3&2 victory over top-ranked Oklahoma State in the semifinals of the East Lake Cup on Tuesday afternoon. The Crimson Tide women fell to Stanford 4&1 in its semifinal contest and will take on the Arizona Wildcats in Wednesday's consolation match, while the men will play the championship match against SEC rival Auburn.
On the men's side, Furr trailed by three holes after four holes played and didn't take draw even until the 15th hole. The Jackson, Miss., native took his first lead of the match with birdie on 17 before collecting another birdie on the 18th hole to seal the win for the Tide. Senior Davis Riley defeated Zach Bauchou 4&3 and freshman Prescott Butler defeated Haywood Butler, 3&2, to record the Tide's three points in the match. Sophomore Davis Shore fell to Matthew Wolff, 4&3, and freshman Frankie Capan III fell to Viktor Hovland, 2&1.
On the women's side, junior Kenzie Wright picked up the Tide's lone win on the day when she took down the Cardinal's Aline Krauter with a birdie on the 19th hole. Junior Jiwon Jeon fell 2&1 to Mika Liu while sophomore Angelica Moresco dropped a 4&3 decision to Albane Valenzuela. Freshman Mary Mac Trammell fell to Andrea Lee, 7&5, and fellow freshman Carolina Caminoli dropped an 8&6 match to Ziyi Wang.
The men's championship match will tee off at 11:55 a.m. CT, while the women will get things started in its consolation match at 10:05 a.m. CT.
