Fischer and Higgins will represent the Crimson Tide at the Fourth Annual Career Tour in Atlanta
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Alabama men's tennis junior Sam Fischer and rowing's senior Hailey Higgins are two of the 28 student-athletes from the Southeastern Conference that will participate in the SEC Career Tour in Atlanta, Ga. on Dec. 3-5.
This will be the fourth consecutive year the conference has invited student-athletes from each of its institutions to take part in the tour leading up to the SEC Football Championship Game. The goal of the career tour is to provide exposure to those who are seeking career opportunities in various fields. Those involved will visit the headquarters and meet with executives at several corporations in and around the Atlanta area.
In addition, a dinner with SEC Commissioner Greg Sankey and presentations by Josh Foliart, former Arkansas football student-athlete and co-founder and CEO of the MULTIPLi Global, and Randy Hain, founder and president of Serviam Partners are on the agenda. Several former SEC Career Tour participants will also share their experience of the SEC Career Tour and how it helped them in their job search.
This fall, Fischer has compiled a 10-3 singles mark and 6-2 doubles record to begin his junior season. Off the court, Fischer is heavily involved with the SAAC program and was named to the SEC Men's Tennis Community Service Team last season. He was also named to the SEC Spring Academic Honor Roll in his first two years at The Capstone.
Higgins has been a valuable member of the rowing team over her four years at the Capstone. Last season, she helped capture the silver medal at the Big 12 Championships in the 3V8+ and throughout this year's fall season, she won gold in the Women's Open 2- and earned two other Top 10 finishes. The Portland, Ore. native is also a representative of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee and a driving force behind the Beat Auburn, Beat Hunger fundraising campaign.
