Alabama Rowing Walk-On Informational Meetings Set for Aug 26-27

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Are you a great athlete? Do you want to make history? Become an Alabama rower.
The Alabama rowing team will hold a pair of informational meetings for interested, female students on Aug. 26 at 7 p.m. and Aug. 27 and 6 p.m. The meetings will take place in the Erg Room located on the third floor of the Robert E. Witt Student Activities Center (between Presidential I and II dorms).
"Coming off a historic season, I am so excited to get started with the next class of walk-ons," head coach and Big 12 Coach of the Year Glenn Putyrae said. "Our walk-on athletes are important contributors to our team's success, and we are looking for competitive, hard-working and driven athletes who want to help our team accomplish its goals while enriching their own collegiate experiences by becoming Crimson Tide student-athletes."
At last year's program-best second place finish at the Big 12 Conference Championship, 23 of the 42 athletes were walk-ons. Alabama rowing was also nationally ranked for the first time in program history.
