
Guarachi Moves Up to No. 62 in WTA Doubles Rankings

The former Alabama standout has moved up 24 spots in the last month of play
ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – Former Alabama women's tennis All-American Alexa Guarachi achieved her second-highest world ranking in her professional career after coming in at No. 62 in the Women Tennis Association's Doubles Rankings on Monday. Guarachi's career-high came back on July 15 after moving up to No. 60 in the world.
Most recently, Guarachi finished second in the WTA Final of the Guangzhou Open in Guangzhou, China, with partner Giuliana Olmos on Sept. 21. Since the August 26 standings, she has climbed 24 spots in the rankings.
In August, Guarachi qualified for her sixth consecutive Grand Slam after making it all the way to the Round of 16 in doubles of the 2019 U.S. Open appearance. The two doubles wins were the first Grand Slam victories of her career. She has also competed in the 2019 Wimbledon, 2019 French Open, 2019 Australian Open, 2018 U.S. Open and 2018 Wimbledon.
