Head of the Black Warrior River Closes Fall Schedule

The Crimson Tide competed against Miami (FL) and Clemson Saturday morning
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Alabama rowing concluded its fall season Saturday in Tuscaloosa, hosting the Head of the Black Warrior River against Miami (FL) and Clemson.
In the head portion of the schedule, the Crimson Tide sent two Varsity 4+ crews onto the water with the A boat clocking a third-place finish of 18:25.4. Thirteen total pairs followed, racing in the Varsity 2s, four each from Alabama and Miami and five from Clemson. The Alabama B boat earned the Crimson Tide's top finish, posting a time of 19:44.1. The head race concluded with the Varsity 8s as Alabama finished in 17:45.1.
The morning of racing also included three 1,500-meter exhibition races, featuring a variety of Varsity 8+, Varsity 4+ and Novice 8+ crews.

"It was a great morning on the Black Warrior River. The fall is about building fitness and our boat-moving skill. These races are an opportunity to see how effective we are at applying what we have been working on. There was great racing today and we are grateful for Miami and Clemson for joining us today!"
