Alabama in 10th-Place Tie after 36 Holes of the Ben Hogan Collegiate

The Crimson Tide tees off the tournament’s final round of play on Tuesday
DALLAS – The Alabama men's golf team in a tie for 10th place overall after 36 holes played at the Ben Hogan Collegiate. The Crimson Tide finished with rounds of 290 and 288, for a two-round total of 18-over par 578
The 15-team event, which is being played on the par 70, 7,289-yard Colonial Country Club, includes five of the top eight and 11 of the nation's top 25, including the No. 7-ranked Crimson Tide.
DAY ONE HIGHLIGHTS
- Jonathan Griz and Jack Mitchell both carded even par rounds of 70 in round two and ended the day inside the top-40 to lead the Tide
- Mitchell leads the field in par 5 scoring (4.00), finishing 4-under par on four such holes Monday, with Griz ranking second overall in total pars (29)
- Griz leads UA in a tie for 34th at 4-over par 144 (74-70), with Mitchell one stroke back and in a tie for 39th with a 145 (75-70)
- Nick Gross opened with a 1-over 71 and will enter round three in a tie for 47th at 6-over 176 (71-75)
- Jones Free, who led the Tide in round one with an even par 70, is in a tie for 53rd at 147 (70-77) is in 53rd while Dominic Clemons rounds out the starting five in 58th place after carding a 148 (75-73)
TEAM HIGHLIGHTS
- No. 8 Oklahoma (-9) owns a two-stroke lead over No. 11 Texas (-7) entering the final 18 holes
- Top-ranked Auburn (-4) is in third with No. 16 North Carolina (-2) in fourth and No. 2 Arizona State (+8) and No. 17 Georgia Tech (+8) tied for fifth
