
Alabama Women's Golf Wins the Lady Paladin Invitational; Harriet Lockley Earns Medalist Honors

GREENVILLE, S.C. - Playing in its season opener, the Alabama women's golf team took home the team title by claiming the Lady Paladin Invitational crown on Sunday afternoon. The Crimson Tide finished the three-day 54-hole event at 18-under par 846 (282-278-286). In addition to claiming the team crown, Alabama's Harriet Lockley captured individual medalist honors, ending the tournament at 8-under par 208 (69-68-71).
The Tide had four golfers inside the top-20 on the player leaderboard led by Lockley, with fellow teammate Ryan Flynn, right behind in second place at 7-under par 209 (67-70-72), Natachanok Tunwannarux finished in 11th at 3-under par 213 (72-70-71) and Mattison Frick placed 18th with an even par 216 (74-70-72).
The Highlights
- Harriet Lockley claimed her first collegiate individual crown, as 8-under par 208 is the lowest score of her career by six strokes
- With her first top-five finish of her UA career, Ryan Flynn finished each round at par or lower on her way to notching her 18th career finish inside the top-10
- Natachanok Tunwannarux, who was playing in her first tournament at Alabama, posted 10 birdies throughout the tournament on her way to an 11th-place result
- Mattison Frick finished inside the top-20 for the fifth time throughout her UA career with an 18th-place finish on the weekend
- Completing Alabama's lineup on the player leaderboard at 12-over par 226 (75-74-77) was Julia Sánchez Morales, who finished in 62nd place
- Competing as individuals, Grace Crawford sits in 45th overall at 8-over par 224 (75-76-73) while Amanda Gyllner carded a 10-over par 234 (79-75-80), finishing the tournament 78th overall
Team Results
- The Tide won the tournament field by 13 strokes with High Point finishing second at 5-under par
