
Tide Amasses 13 Entries for World Athletics Championships

Seven different countries will make up UA’s contingent, led by six athletes from the United States
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The Alabama track and field program will have 13 entries at the World Athletics Championships (Sept. 13-21), held at Japan National Stadium in Tokyo.
Highlighting the Crimson Tide's contingent are three current student-athletes – back-to-back women's steeplechase national champion Doris Lemngole (Kenya), reigning men's 400-meter national champion Samuel Ogazi (Nigeria) and women's shot put All-American Treneese Hamilton (Dominica). Ogazi will be joined in the 400m by a trio of UA alumni at the international meet – Kirani James (Grenada), Khaleb McRae (United States) and Jereem Richards (Trinidad and Tobago).
