All finalists will be recognized on Dec. 8 at the 68th NFF Annual Awards Dinner at the Bellagio Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas with the winner being announced that night. The Campbell Trophy recipient is recognized as the best scholar-athlete in the nation, combining academic success, football performance and exemplary leadership, and will see his scholarship increase to $25,000.
Alabama's previous seven finalists for the Campbell include Johnny Musso (1971), Randy Hall (1974), Steadman Shealy (1979), DeMeco Ryans (2005), Greg McElroy (2010), Barrett Jones (2012) and Jalen Milroe (2024), with Jones and Milroe each claiming the award.
The Ocean Springs, Miss., native is also one of 20 semifinalists for the Jason Witten Collegiate Man of the Year. Named in honor of the 16-year NFL tight end, the award is the first college football honor to focus primarily on a player's leadership, both on and off the field. Three finalists will be named for the award on Tuesday, Dec. 15. The winner will be announced at the award ceremony at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, on March 11, 2027.
The Crimson Tide has not had a Collegiate Man of the Year winner in the award's nine-year history. Two Alabama players have been honored as finalists, with Minkah Fitzpatrick earning the distinction in 2017 and Najee Harris most recently in 2020.
