HILTON HEAD, S.C. – The Alabama women's golf team wrapped up the first round of the Darius Rucker Intercollegiate, sitting in a tie for 10th place at 15-over par 299. Ryan Flynn and Mattison Frick led the way for the Crimson Tide, ending the day tied in 19thplace on the player leaderboard at 2-over par 73.
THE HIGHLIGHTS
- Alabama recorded 60 pars in the first round of the tournament, tied for the most by a team during the opening round
- As a team, the Crimson Tide posted an average score of 4.25 on Par 4 holes, which was tied for the fourth-best score throughout the field
- Ryan Flynn recorded a team-best 16 pars in the opening round, finishing the first day in a tie for 19th overall at 2-over par 73
- Tied with Flynn at 19th overall is UA teammate Mattison Frick, after posting a pair of birdies
- Natachanok Tunwannarux carded a 5-over par 76, ending the day in 50th place on the player leaderboard
- Harriet Lockley wrapped up her first round in 58th overall at 6-over par 77
- Grace Crawford rounded out UA's lineup in 76th overall at 9-over par 80
