No. 16 Alabama in Fourth After Opening Round of Linger Longer Invitational

Jennings leads the Crimson Tide at 4-under par
EATONTON, Ga. – The No. 16 Alabama men's golf team finished the opening round of play at the Linger Longer Invitational, which teed off Friday at the Great Waters at Reynolds Lake Oconee. The Crimson Tide carded a team total of 10-under par to 278 and will enter Saturday's second round in a tie for fourth overall.
Round One Highlights
- William Jennings led the team in round one as the nation's No. 28 ranked golfer collected five birdies and a bogey on his way to a team-leading 4-under 68
- Jennings will enter the second round in a tie for ninth overall, three shots back of the individual lead
- Brycen Jones carded a 3-under 69 to end the day in a tie for 13th overall
- Connor Brown is in a tie for 22nd position at 2-under 70, with Jonathan Griz a shot behind and in a tie for 35th overall at 1-under 71
- Jack Mitchell, who is competing as an individual this weekend, finished the day at 2-under 70 and is tied with Brown for 22ndoverall
- Nick Gross rounded out the starting five carding a 3-over 75
- No. 34 Georgia (-21) leads the 15-team field, with Ohio State (-11) and Mercer (-11) one stroke ahead of the 16th-ranked
- No. 16 Alabama (-10) and No. 11 Vanderbilt (-11) are tied for fourth place to round out the top five teams
