
No. 5 Alabama Headed to Oregon State for 2026 NCAA Regional Championships

The Crimson Tide is the No. 2 seed in the NCAA Corvallis Regional and will open competition on Friday, April 3
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The No. 5 Alabama gymnastics team will travel to Corvallis, Ore., for the 2026 NCAA Regional Championships, the NCAA announced Monday during the Gymnastics Selection Show.
Alabama is the No. 2 seed in the regional, with No. 4 UCLA the top seed. The Tide and the Bruins will be joined by No. 12 Utah and No. 13 Minnesota as the ranked programs in the nine-team regional field.
San José State and Washington will compete on Thursday, April 2, at 4 p.m. CT for the opportunity to be in the second of two four-team sessions on Friday, April 3.
The first session on Friday, which gets underway at 3 p.m., will feature Alabama, Utah, Denver and host school Oregon State. The second session, starting at 9 p.m., will include UCLA, Minnesota, Iowa and the winner of Thursday's San José State vs. Washington matchup.
Following a recovery day on Saturday, April 4, the top-two teams from each of Friday's sessions will meet on Sunday, April 5, for the regional final at 7 p.m., with the top-two teams advancing to the national championships.
Individual all-around and event specialists from Ball State, Central Michigan, Clemson, New Hampshire, Northern Illinois, Rutgers, Southeast Missouri State and Western Michigan will also compete for a chance to advance to nationals.
Alabama at the NCAA Regional Championships
- Alabama has competed in the regional round of the NCAA Championships every year since its inception in 1982, outside of the 2020 postseason cancellation due to COVID-19
- The Crimson Tide holds 32 NCAA regional titles
- UA will meet two of its first-round semifinal opponents for the first time this season – Denver, Utah
- The Tide and the Beavers will meet for the second time in 2026, as Alabama took the first meeting via a 197.450-195.825 score
- In 2025, Alabama finished second in the Tuscaloosa Regional to advance to the program's 40th appearance at the NCAA Championships
