
Joyce Oguama Named SEC Women’s Co-Field Athlete of the Week

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Alabama track and field's Joyce Oguama was named the Women's Southeastern Conference Co-Field Athlete of the Week, the league office announced Tuesday. It marked the first conference weekly honor of Oguama's career and first for the Crimson Tide in the 2026 outdoor season.
Oguama made her collegiate debut last weekend at the Battle on the Bayou in record-setting fashion to claim the women's discus event title. The Bochum, Germany, native set a UA school and meet record, while also becoming the new national leader in the event.
