Jennings Makes PGA Tour Debut This Weekend at the Rocket Classic

William Jennings earned the exemption after winning medalist honors at the Folds of Honor Collegiate last fall
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Alabama men's golfer William Jennings is set to make is PGA TOUR debut when he tees off Thursday afternoon at the 2026 Rocket Classic. The event is being played at the par 70, 7,266-yard Detroit Golf Club in Detroit, Mich.
Jennings earned the exemption to this year's event after carding a 4-under 209 to claim medalist honors at the Folds of Honor Collegiate last September. It marks the second consecutive year an Alabama men's golfer won that tournament and earned an exemption into the PGA TOUR event (Dominic Clemons in 2025).
Jennings 2025-26 Highlights
- William Jennings followed in the footsteps of former UA golfer Dominic Clemons, who won the Folds of Honor Collegiate in 2024 to earn the Rocket Classic exemption in 2025
- Jennings had an outstanding season, ending the year ranked No. 4 in that nation among all Division I men's golfers (Scoreboard/Clippd national rankings)
- Became the ninth golfer in program history to earn First Team All-America honors, and the first to earn the honor since 2016 (Robby Shelton)
- Finished runner-up at the 2026 NCAA Men's Golf Championships with a 72-hole tournament total of 13-under par 275 (66-70-70-69)
- Became the fourth Alabama's men's golfer in program history, and first since 2013, to win an NCAA Regional championship as he carded a 15-under par 201 to claim individual honors at the Marana Regional
- Earned three first-place finishes this season which is tied for the second-most individual wins in a year in program history (Fall of Honors Collegiate, Ben Hogan Collegiate, NCAA Marana Regional)
- Had eight top five finishes across his 12 tournaments played on the year, highlighted by three first place finishes and three runner-up results
- Named to United States Palmer Cup Team which will take place in early-July
- A finalist for the 2026 Haskins Award
