
Women’s Golf Sits Atop the Leaderboard on Day One of the Lady Paladin Invitational

Alabama finished day one with three players inside the top 10 on the player leaderboard
GREENVILLE, S.C. – The Alabama women's golf team wrapped up its first round of the season, sitting in first place at 7-under par 281 at the Lady Paladin Invitational. Tiphani Knight led the way for the Crimson Tide, ending the day tied for second-place on the player leaderboard at 5-under par 67.
Joining Knight in the top-10 on the player leaderboard was Manon Petitcolas, tied for sixth place, after carding a 2-under par 70. As a team, the Tide posted the lowest average score (4.40) on Par 5 holes and the most birdies (25) throughout the field.
THE HIGHLIGHTS
- Tiphani Knight posted a team-high seven birdies in the opening round of the tournament, including four on the front nine
- In her collegiate debut Manon Petitcolas recorded five birdies, joining fellow teammate Knight as one of 14 individuals to score under par in the first round
- Natachanok Tunwannarux recorded her ninth round to score par or lower during her UA career, ending the day tied for 15thoverall at even-par 72
- Amely Bochaton joined UA teammate Tunwannarux, tied for 15th place, after recording a trio of birdies in her first round at Alabama
- Freshman Alvilda Wiberg rounded out UA's lineup tied for 27th overall at 2-over par 74
- Competing as an individual, Alice Johansson is tied with teammates Bochaton and Tunwannarux at 15th overall at even-par 72
TEAM RESULTS
- The Tide leads the tournament field by two strokes with Furman sitting in second at 5-under par
- Xavier's Isabel Brozena leads the player leaderboard at 6-under par 66 with four golfers just one stroke behind her in second place, including Alabama's Knight
