The Crimson Tide’s duo of Aleksander Blus and Theo Hegarty captured two doubles victories
STARKVILLE, Miss. - Aleksander Blus and Theo Hegarty highlighted the Alabama men's tennis team at the Starkvegas Showdown as the duo collected two doubles victories over the three-day event. The Crimson Tide concluded the weekend with a pair of wins over Vanderbilt and Mississippi State.
Blus and Hegarty secured victories over Vanderbilt's Donghyun Hwang and Roshan Santhosh (6-3) on Friday before downing Mississippi State's Roberto Ferrer Guimaraes and Segundo Goity Zapico (6-4) on the final day. The two also led the UA in singles play, collecting two wins apiece, while Rohan Hazratwala earned his first win of the season.
Hegarty put together a weekend to remember, leading the team with five total victories (three doubles wins, two singles wins) in the six matches he competed in.

"We had a valuable weekend of competition, challenges and the overall ability to figure out solutions to demanding situations. The weather alone presented rough conditions, and our SEC peers are tough outs. We had a very good attitude and our effort got better each day. We'll get back to work now as this group prepares for the Blue Gray Tournament in a couple of weeks."
