The Crimson Tide captures back-to-back Lady Paladin Invitational titles
GREENVILLE, S.C. - Playing in its season opener, the Alabama women's golf team took home the team title by claiming the Lady Paladin Invitational crown for the second consecutive year. The Crimson Tide finished the three-day, 54-hole event at 22-under par 842 (281-285-276), highlighted by a 12-under par 276 in the final round.
The Tide had four golfers inside the top-20 on the player leaderboard, led by Manon Petitcolas, who finished fourth at 9-under par 207 (70-69-68). Natachanok Tunwannarux finished right behind in fifth place at 7-under par 209 (72-71-66), while Amely Bochaton tied for sixth at 6-under par 210 (72-69-69) and Tiphani Knight placed tied for 19th at 1-over par 217 (67-76-74).Â
The Highlights
- Manon Petitcolas led the Crimson Tide with a fourth-place finish at 9-under par 207 (70-69-68), carding all three rounds under par in her first collegiate tournament.Â
- Natachanok Tunwannarux shot a 6-under par 66 in the final round, moving up seven spots on the player leaderboard to finish fifth overall at 7-under par 209 (72-71-66).
- Amely Bochaton carded back-to-back rounds of 3-under par 69 to finish tied for sixth at 6-under par 210 (72-69-69).Â
- Tiphani Knight finished tied for 19th at 1-over par 217 (67-76-74), highlighted by a 5-under par 67 in the opening round.Â
- Alvilda Wiberg rounded out Alabama's lineup, finishing tied for 33rd at 7-over par 223 (74-76-73).Â
- Competing as an individual, Alice Johansson tied for sixth at 6-under par 210 (72-69-69).
Team Results
- The Tide won the tournament field by 10 strokes, with High Point finishing second at 12-under par
- High Point's Makayla Grubb took home the individual crown, finishing atop the player leaderboard at 14-under par
