Gameday Expectations and Code of Conduct
The University of Alabama is committed to creating a safe and enjoyable atmosphere for all gameday participants. Spectators are an important part of the contest and help create an environment that fosters healthy competition. However, attending a college sporting event is a privilege and not a right. All attendees at University athletic events are expected to conduct themselves with class, honesty, dignity, integrity, and good sportsmanship, and shall, among other things, exhibit respect and courtesy towards all other attendees, which includes student-athletes, coaches, and game officials. - Avoid intoxication or other signs of alcohol or substance abuse impairment that results in irresponsible behavior. Â
- Avoid vulgar, abusive, demeaning, inflammatory, or threatening language or gestures, to include the use of such language or gestures concerning a person's race, color, religion, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, age, disability, or any other legally protected basis, or to instigate, incite or encourage a confrontation or physical assault. Â
- Avoid verbal or physical harassment of game officials, student-athletes, coaches, or other spectators. Â
- Avoid any behavior that otherwise targets other spectators or interferes with other spectators' enjoyment of the game, such as unreasonably obstructing the view of others.
- Avoid any conduct deemed inappropriate or dangerous to attendees of the event, which includes, but is not limited to, throwing objects.
- Avoid interference with the progress of the game (including throwing objects onto or attempting to access the playing surface or team areas).
- Avoid possession of an unauthorized device or other prohibited item.
- Avoid displaying clothing, signage, or material with profane or abusive language, obscene graphics or inflammatory references. All banners and signs must be handheld and not obstruct anyone's view. Â
- Avoid making unauthorized transmissions or play-by-play accounts of the event or possessing a camera with a detachable lens larger than six inches.
- Follow instructions of game management personnel, which includes University representatives and law enforcement. Â
- Comply with the Terms and Conditions for attending a University athletic event. Â
- The University of Alabama is a smoke free campus. The use of any tobacco products, including e-cigarettes, in or immediately around the venue is prohibited. Â
Spectators are responsible for their conduct as well as the conduct of their guests and/or persons occupying their seats. Ticketholders or their guests who violate this Code of Conduct will, among other things, be subject to ejection without refund and potential loss of ticket privileges for future games. Â
