Erwin Dudley enters his second season as special assistant to the head coach after being hired in July of 2025. Dudley joined the staff in 2023 as a graduate assistant helping the Crimson Tide reached the program's first-ever Final Four (2024) and reached back-to-back Elite Eights in 2024 and 2025.

"Erwin's name is synonymous with the history of Alabama basketball and we are thrilled to have him around," head coach Nate Oats said. "Not only has Erwin been exceptional in his role the last two years but he also possesses a servant's heart who has been a great resource for our current players. He will thrive in this role and we are happy to have Erwin stay in the program."

Prior to being hired in 2025 as special assistant to the head coach, Dudley served as a graduate assistant for the Crimson Tide from 2023-25
During his three seasons as a graduate assistant and special assistant to the head coach, the Tide won 78 games while appearing in back-to-back Elite Eights and the program's first-ever trip to the Final Four (2024)
In three seasons Alabama has produced five All-SEC selections in addition to a pair of All-America honorees in Mark Sears (2024, 2025) and Labaron Philon Jr. (2026)
Contributed to the Crimson Tide's No. 1 scoring offense in the nation in back-to-back seasons (2025 and 2026)

A three-time All-SEC selection throughout his career, Dudley ranks fourth on Alabama's all-time rebounding list (1,184 rebounds) and ninth on the program's all-time scoring list with 1,775 career points
