Kretschman Appears on Front Page of New York Times

Already an international star in the softball world, former University of Alabama All-America softball player Kelly Kretschman is quickly becoming the queen of all media as well.
A member of the US Olympic Softball team, Kretschman is currently in Athens, Greece preparing for the first game of the United State's drive for another gold medal. In the mean time, she has appeared in Sports Illustrated's Olympic preview and she will be featured on NBC's telecast of Olympic Softball; most recently though, she was front page news in the August 10th edition of the New York Times, featured prominently in the front page photo.
It marks the first time an Alabama softball player has appeared in either publication.
Kretschman and Team USA will open play on Saturday, August 14th at 5:00 a.m. CT as they take on Italy in first round action. The game will be televised live on CNBC.
