TUSCALOOSA ?? The University of Alabama basketball team is ranked No. 9 in both major national collegiate polls this week.
Alabama dropped in the rankings after losing at Notre Dame last Thursday night, moving from No. 4 AP and No. 5 in the ESPN/USA Today Coaches poll to No. 9 in both polls.
The Crimson Tide is 8-1 overall, its latest victory coming at home this past Saturday where it defeated Alabama State 92-58, led by 34 points from sophomore Richard Hendrix. It is exams week on campus, so Alabama does not have a mid-week game. The Crimson Tide returns to action Saturday night in Mobile when it plays in The Coors Classic. The event is hosted by the University of South Alabama and is a double header. Alabama plays Southern Miss at 7:15 p.m. in a game that will be televised on CSS. South Alabama plays Ole Miss in the first game at 5 p.m. CT.
