TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - The women's basketball team travels to take on Hampton for the Crimson Tide's first road test of the season on Saturday at 5:00 p.m. (CST). Alabama currently sits at 1-1 on the season, while the Pirates are off to an 0-2 start.
Most recently, the Tide dropped a 61-55 overtime loss in Coleman Coliseum to Samford on Tuesday. Alabama won its opening contest to Centenary 64-55 on Nov. 14.
"I think we've got to just keep playing the way we've been playing," said Head Coach Wendell Hudson. "I am pleased with the way we've played so far, but we just need to make shots. It's as simple as that."
Hampton began the season at East Carolina where the Lady Pirates suffered a 74-58 loss. In its home opener, Hampton fell to UNC Charlotte 69-46. Saturday's contest will be just the second between the Tide and Lady Pirates in program history. The two schools met for the first time last season in Tuscaloosa where Alabama picked up a 63-60 overtime victory. Then-freshman Tierney Jenkins poured in a career-high 29 points to lead the Tide.
