Women's Basketball Opens with Crimson and White Matchup

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - The women's basketball team hits the court for the first time this season when it tips off in the Crimson and White game Wednesday, November 5 at 6:00 p.m. in Coleman Coliseum. Catch first glimpse of the 2008-09 Crimson Tide as it competes in an intrasquad scrimmage under new head coach Wendell Hudson.
The Crimson team will be led by Stacey Franklin and includes Dedrea Magee, Varisia Raffington, Alyson Butler, Tierney Jenkins, Courtney Strauthers, Tamara Williams and Candiss Willingham. Leading the white team is Joni Crenshaw, and her team consists of Ericka Russell, Camilla Blands, Katie Hancock, Carmen McCoy, Daleisha Carn, Caitlin Hollifield and Danielle Hicks.
Admission to this event, as well as Friday's exhibition contest against West Alabama, is free. The first regular-season game for Alabama is slated for Nov. 14 when Coleman Coliseum welcomes Centenary College at 6:00 p.m. (CST).
