TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - The Alabama baseball team will scrimmage three times this weekend as part of Homecoming festivities at the Capstone.
The Crimson Tide will scrimmage at 2:30 p.m. Friday, 11 a.m. Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday as the team concludes its third week of fall practice.
"We think it's important right now to have those three good practice days on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday and really still work in our development," head coach Mitch Gaspard said. "That's one part too, of our pitching staff, we are pitching six freshmen right now that not only need to pitch in scrimmages, but they need constant work and drill work and to do the things that will enhance their development as we get closer to the spring.
"I think the same with the hitters. We want to spend a lot of time with those guys doing our skill work offensively and running the bases properly. We want three good days of practice and three good days of intrasquads right now."
All scrimmages are free and open to the public.
