Softball Lands Nine NFCA Scholar-Athletes

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - The Alabama softball program had nine members of the 2010 squad named Scholar-Athletes by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association. The NFCA gives the honor to student-athletes who acquire a 3.5 grade point average throughout an entire academic year.
Exactly half of the 2010 softball team were named NFCA scholar-athletes. The nine student athletes receiving the honor were Jackey Branham, Kayla Braud, Courtney Conley, Lisa Elizondo, Whitney Larsen, Jazlyn Lunceford, Charlotte Morgan, Cassie Reilly-Boccia and Jessica Smith.
The Crimson Tide will open up its 2011 season on Friday, February 11 against Samford at the All-Alabama Classic hosted at Liberty Park in Vestavia Hills.
