Softball Announces Fall Brawl Dates

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - Alabama softball head coach Patrick Murphy announced the Fall Brawl schedule for 2010 Thursday. The Crimson Tide will play a total of six games on three dates and a total of nine games will be played at the Alabama Softball Complex.
The three Fall Brawl events will provide the first chance for Alabama fans to see the nation's third ranked 2010 signing class to don the Crimson and White in Tuscaloosa.
The first date is slated for Sunday, Oct. 17 and will feature three games. Alabama will play Alabama-Huntsville (UAH) to open Fall Brawl I at noon. The Tide will then play Northwest Florida State at 2 p.m. before the event is completed with UAH and Northwest Florida squaring off at 4 p.m.
Fall Brawl II is set for Friday, Oct. 22. The second event will kick off with Chattanooga facing Central Alabama Community College at 4 p.m. Alabama will then play Chattanooga at 6 p.m., followed by a matchup against Central Alabama at 8 p.m. Chattanooga is no stranger to the Alabama Softball Complex, as the Lady Mocs have participated in four NCAA Tuscaloosa Regionals.
The fall slate will conclude the next day on Saturday, Oct. 23 when Alabama plays two more games at Fall Brawl III. Wallace State-Hanceville will open the date at noon against Samford. Alabama will face Wallace State at 2 p.m. and complete the event with a 4 p.m. matchup against Samford.
The Tide's four incoming freshmen: Kaila Hunt, Ryan Iamurri, Jordan Patterson and Jackie Traina, will all be participating next week (Aug. 2 - 8) in the ASA Gold Nationals tournament at Lost Mountain Softball Complex in Marietta, Ga. "I'm very excited to get our freshmen on campus next month," Murphy said. "The talent in that tournament is the future college softball."
Admission will be $5 for the entire day at each event.
