TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - In week three of the Alabama baseball team fall practice schedule, the Crimson Tide had three days of practice and three intrasquad scrimmages. Week four of fall practice continues on Tuesday, with the Crimson Tide having two practice days early in the week, followed by three scrimmages to close the week.
"This team continues to improve with each practice day and we are very encouraged by the progress our young pitchers are making," head coach Mitch Gaspard said. "Offensively, we have a chance to be really good. The hitters are showing a lot of balance, and should hit for average and power this season. Defensively, we're rounding into form and are very solid up the middle. We're halfway through the fall season and all phases of the team are progressing very well."
Scrimmages this week will take place at Sewell-Thomas Stadium on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Scrimmages are open to the public and free of charge. Thursday and Friday's games will start around 3:30 p.m., while Saturday's scrimmage will begin around 10:30 a.m.
