MEMPHIS, Tenn. - The women's tennis team won all six of the matches it appeared in on Sunday at the Memphis Collegiate Invitational. The Crimson Tide has now wrapped up its fall schedule and will resume play on January 14.
"All of our matches went really well today," said Alabama assistant coach Drake Bernstein. "I think this was a great way to cap off our fall season, giving us a lot of momentum as we head into the spring."
Alabama began the day with a pair of wins in doubles as senior Courtney McLane and junior Antonia Foehse took down Arizona's Natasha Marks and Kim Stubbe, 8-5, while senior Taylor Lindsey and freshman Emily Zabor had a dominant win over Mississippi's Gabby Rangel and Erin Stephens, 8-3.
In singles, Foehse dropped just one game as she posted a 6-0, 6-1 victory over Arkansas' Catherine Parenteau. Zabor took on Tulsa's Maria Sant'Anna, where the Tide freshman notched a 6-3, 6-1 win. McLane also took on a Hurricane opponent in Bonny Davidson with McLane coming out on top 6-4, 6-3. Finally, Lindsey would also earn a win in singles for Alabama, collecting a 6-0, 6-2 decision over Arizona's Debora Castany.
