
Baseball Series Opener at South Carolina on ESPNU

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – When the Alabama baseball team travels to Columbia, S.C. to take on the defending NCAA champions South Carolina, the series opener will be televised on ESPNU as part of the 2012 Thursday Night SEC Baseball Game of the Week package, as announced on Monday afternoon by the SEC and ESPN.
To accommodate television, the series at South Carolina will now run from Thursday, April 26 to Saturday, April 28. Thursday night’s game will begin at 6:30 p.m. CT, while the game on Friday will start at 6 p.m. CT and Saturday’s game will have a 3 p.m. CT, first pitch.
ESPNU Thursday Night SEC Baseball Game of the Week will return for its second year on ESPNU, with eight weeks of SEC showdowns beginning March 22. The 2012 schedule will open with an NCAA National Championship rematch between defending champion South Carolina and Florida. College Baseball Live on ESPNU will preview the games each week at 6 p.m. CT, from the Charlotte, N.C., studios. The schedule of games on ESPNU will feature all seven conference teams that advanced to the 2011 NCAA Tournament.
The 2012 Crimson Tide baseball season begins on Friday, Feb. 17, at 6 p.m., with game one of a three-game series against Florida Atlantic at Sewell-Thomas Stadium. Fans can register for 2012 baseball season tickets by logging onto RollTide.com/tickets.
