TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Alabama softball inked its first signee of the early signing period as Kyra Lockhart signed her National Letter of Intent to join the Crimson Tide for the 2017-18 school year.
"Kyra is one of the top power-hitting prospects in the 2017 class," UA head coach Patrick Murphy said. "She has a great demeanor which in turn makes all of her teammates better. We are very excited to welcome Kyra to The Capstone next year."
Lockhart originally hails from Scotch Plains, N.J., where she attended Scotch Plains-Fanwood High School before moving to Duluth, Ga., where she now attends Northview High School. Over her prep career, she has been named an All-County and All-State honoree in New Jersey and most recently was an All-Region selection in Georgia. She is currently the all-time home run leader at Northview HS. She previously played club softball with Jersey Intensity, finishing in the top 25 at PGF Nationals, before making the transition to Georgia Impact.
