Alabama Women’s Basketball Takes on Jacksonville for Annual 5th Grade Fastbreak Contest

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The Alabama women's basketball team (2-0) welcomes the Jacksonville Dolphins to town on Thursday for the Crimson Tide's annual 5th Grade Fastbreak game. Tip is slated for 11:30 a.m. in Coleman Coliseum.

- Free admission for UA faculty and staff with school ID.
THE BROADCAST
- Thursday's game will stream live on SEC Network + via the WatchESPN app. Eli Gold (play-by-play) and Rick Moody (analyst) will be on the call.
- The game can also be heard on the Crimson Tide Sports Network on 93.3 FM in Tuscaloosa with Roger Hoover on the broadcast.
OPENING TIP
- Alabama closes out its three-game homestand on Thursday when it welcomes Jacksonville to Coleman Coliseum.
- This will be the second meeting between the Crimson Tide and the Dolphins.
- Alabama enters the game with a 2-0 record following wins against Alabama A&M and Utah, while Jacksonville stands at 1-1 after a loss to NC State and win over Iona.
- This game will serve as the Tide's annual 5th Grade Fastbreak game, with over 2,000 city and county 5th graders in attendance.
ABOUT JACKSONVILLE
- Jacksonville is coming off a 71-62 win over Iona, where it was led by Naqaiyyah Teague's 16 points, six rebounds and two steals.
- For the game, the Dolphins shot 44.3 percent from the floor and outrebounded Iona, 46-30.
- Over the first two games of the season, Jasmyn Brown leads the team in scoring with an average of 12.0 points per game, while Kayla Gordon has a team-high 8.5 rebounds and Brandi Buie a team-best 5.5 assists per contest.
- Jacksonville is under the direction of fifth-year head coach Yolett McPhee-McCuin, who guided the Dolphins back to the NCAA tournament in 2016 after winning the Atlantic Sun championship.
TIDE RECEIVING VOTES IN AP POLL
- Following the first week of play, Alabama has received four votes in the Associated Press Top 25 Poll.
- The Crimson Tide is one of eight Southeastern Conference teams to appear in the poll.
