Registration Open for Fall and Winter Alabama Softball Clinics

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Registration is now open for eight Alabama softball fall and winter clinics, stretching from October to February.
Camps include two sessions of the Pitching Summit (Oct. 9, Nov. 27), two sessions of the Sweet Spot Hitting Clinic (Oct. 16, Nov. 13), two Winter Hitting Clinics and an Infield/Outfield clinic on Jan. 14 and a Coaches Clinic on Feb. 3. Detailed information on each camp is listed below.
All camps will take place either at Rhoads Stadium or in the Hank Crisp Indoor Football facility, both on the campus of The University of Alabama. Online registration for all camps is available at www.alabamasoftballcamp.com and any questions should be directed to Kate Harris at kharris@ia.ua.edu.
PITCHING SUMMIT: SESSION I
Date: Monday, October 9
Time: 6 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.
Age: 8th - 12th Graders ONLY
Location: Rhoads Stadium
What to Bring: Catcher (mom, dad, coach, teammate, etc.), glove, tennis shoes and a good attitude!
PITCHING SUMMIT: SESSION II
Date: Monday, November 27
Time: 6 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.
Age: 8th-12th Graders ONLY
Location: Rhoads Stadium
What to Bring: Catcher (mom, dad, coach, teammate, etc.), glove, tennis shoes and a good attitude!
The Winter Pitching Summit will showcase Alabama Softball's Pitching Coach Stephanie VanBrakle Prothro and Assistant Coach Brynne Dordel as well as Morgan Lashley (former Hofstra All-Conference pitcher) and the current UA pitching staff! To strengthen the coach-to-camper ratio, only 40 campers will be admitted to either session.
SWEET SPOT HITTING CLINIC: SESSION I

Time: 6 p.m. – 8:45 p.m.
Age: 8th-10th Graders ONLY
Location: Rhoads Stadium
What to Bring: Batting Gloves, bat, helmet, tennis shoes, cleats, warm layers and a good attitude!
SWEET SPOT HITTING CLINIC: SESSION II

|Time: 6 p.m. – 8:45 p.m.
Age: 8th-10th Graders ONLY
Location: Rhoads Stadium
What to Bring: Batting Gloves, bat, helmet, tennis shoes, cleats, warm layers and a good attitude!
Patrick Murphy Softball School will host a one-of-a-kind hitting experience for 8th -10th graders. Each camper will receive superior instruction from the entire Alabama Softball coaching staff as well as members of the Alabama Softball team. Campers have the opportunity to sign up for one of the two Sweet Spot hitting clinics and each session is limited to the FIRST 50 campers!
WINTER HITTING CLINIC: SESSION I
Date: Sunday, January 14
Time: 9:30 a.m. – Noon
Age: 9th-12th Graders
Location: Hank Crisp Indoor Football Facility
What to Bring: Batting Gloves, bat, helmet, tennis shoes, and a good attitude!
WINTER HITTING CLINIC: SESSION II
Date: Sunday, January 14
Time: 4 p.m. – 6:30 p.m.
Age: Ages 10 years - 8th Grade
Location: Rhoads Stadium
What to Bring: Batting Gloves, bat, helmet, tennis shoes, and a good attitude!
Patrick Murphy Softball School Winter Hitting Clinic featuring UA Softball Coaches Patrick Murphy, Alyson Habetz, Stephanie VanBrakle Prothro and Brynne Dordel as well as members of the 2018 Crimson Tide softball team. Campers will receive two and a half hours of instruction on the fundamentals of hitting as well as the opportunity to work with the ENTIRE coaching staff and members of the Crimson Tide softball team.
INFIELD/OUTFIELD CLINIC
Date: Sunday, January 14
Time: 1 p.m. – 3:30 p.m.
Age: Ages 10 years - 12th Grade
Location: Rhoads Stadium
What to Bring: Glove, tennis shoes and a good attitude!
Patrick Murphy Softball School Winter Infield/Outfield Clinic featuring UA Softball Coaches Patrick Murphy, Alyson Habetz and Stephanie VanBrakle as well as members of the 2017 Crimson Tide softball team. Campers will receive two and a half hours of instruction at their primary positions.
COACHES CLINIC
Date: Saturday, February 3
Time: 9:30 a.m. – 5 p.m. *includes lunch*
Age: Coaches of All Levels
Location: Rhoads Stadium
What to Bring: Dress accordingly, as we hope to have most of camp outside and it may be chilly. You may want to bring a pad of paper and a pen, though we will provide a camp manual to each participating coach. Lunch will be provided. You are welcome to record any/all of the clinic on your smartphone, tablet or video camera.
Patrick Murphy Softball School February Coaches Clinic is open to ALL SOFTBALL COACHES regardless of level or affiliation and will feature UA Coaches Patrick Murphy, Alyson Habetz, Stephanie VanBrakle Prothro, Brynne Dordel and members of the 2018 Crimson Tide softball team. The clinic will cover all facets of the game, including the opportunity to watch practice sessions, a question and answer segment and a Coaches luncheon. There will also be a camp manual, which will illustrate everything covered in the clinic for coaches to take home with them.
