
Andie Daniell Defeats Two Nationally-Ranked Opponents to Move on to Qualifier Finals of ITA Riviera All-American Championships

Daniell won against No. 42 Shweta Sangwan (Oregon) and No. 55 Ana Oparenovic (Florida State)
PACIFIC PALISADES, Calif. – Senior Andie Daniell started the 2018 Riviera/ITA Women's All-American Championships with back-to-back wins over nationally-ranked opponents on Tuesday in Pacific Palisades, Calif. No. 70 Daniell will advance to the qualifier finals against No. 31 Meible Chi (Duke) on Wednesday with the time to be announced.
The Douglasville, Ga., native began the tournament with a straight-set victory over No. 42 Shweta Sangwan (Oregon), 6-2, 6-2, and then took on No. 55 Ana Oparenovic later in the afternoon. After falling down 4-0 in the first set against Oparenovic, Daniell bounced back with six-straight games to win the crucial set. In the second set, the senior closed out the match by winning 6-2.
