Selim and Fabian won their singles draws, while Selim/Gintrand were victorious in doubles
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The Alabama women's tennis team wrapped up a successful Roberta Alison Fall Classic after the Crimson Tide won two singles draws and one doubles draw on Saturday.
Junior Luca Fabian dominated Alex Angyalosy (Clemson), 6-0, 6-0, in the finals of the Bianca Svensson Draw, while junior Ann Selim won in the finals against Meredith Jones (Air Force), 6-0, 7-6(2), in the Paulina Bigos Draw. In doubles, junior Kimberley Gintrand and Selim won their draw after defeating Bente/Hohnhold (Memphis), 6-1, and then besting Montero Estevan/Guo (Troy), 7-5, in the finals.
In other singles action, junior Alba Cortina Pou cruised to a 6-1, 6-1, victory over Allie Sanford (Ole Miss) as she picked up her second singles win of the tournament and junior Jacqueline Pelletier also earned her second win after defeating Adelaide Lavery (Tulane), 6-4, 4-6, 1-0 (10-5).
Junior Kimberley Gintrand dropped her match to Ariana Beltrame (Samford), 6-3, 1-6, 1-0 (10-6), while sophomore Moka Ito fell to Madison Appel (Indiana), 6-3, 7-5.
In the second round of doubles, Cortina Pou/Fabian moved on via a walkover and then defeated Vrbenska/Sanford (Ole Miss), 6-3. Ito/Pelletier lost their first doubles match of the day to Hofbauer/Diercksen (ECU), 6-2, before bouncing back with a 7-5 win over Topalovic/Reayer (Memphis).
