Alabama Track and Field Picks Up Wins on Bob Pollock Invitational Day One

The Crimson Tide goes 1-2 in the women’s 60-meter dash and 1-2-3 in the women’s shot put
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The Alabama track and field team notched four wins on day one of the Bob Pollock Invitational in Clemson, S.C.
The Crimson Tide swept the top-three spots of the women's shot put with senior Portious Warren taking first with a throw of 56-08.50 (17.28m). Senior Haley Teel (52-08.00/16.05m) and sophomore Nickolette Dunbar (51-10.50/15.81m), took second and third, respectively.
Sophomores Tamara Clark and Daija Lampkin went one-two in the 60-meter dash, with Clark taking first with a 7.23 and Lampkin finishing a fraction behind at 7.29. Junior Krystal Sparling and sophomore Demi Washington took seventh and eighth in the 60m.
Senior Mauricia Prieto won the 300 meters with a time of 38.03, while junior Symone Darius was third at 39.30. Freshman Champion Allison won the men's 400 meters after clocking a 47.14.
Freshman Chago Basso took third in the men's shot put with a throw of 57-10.5 (17.64m) while sophomore Taylor Pickett was eighth in the women's pole vault after clearing 11-11.75 (3.65m).
The meet continues Saturday starting at 9 a.m. ET.
