
Alexa Guarachi Earns Career-Best WTA Doubles Rankings

The former Alabama standout has moved up to No. 59 in the world
ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – Former Alabama women's tennis All-American Alexa Guarachi achieved her highest world ranking in her professional career after coming in at No. 59 in the Women Tennis Association's Doubles Rankings on Monday.
Since Aug. 26, Guarachi has jumped 27 spots in the doubles rankings. Guarachi's previous career-high came back on July 15 after coming in at No. 60.
Most recently, Guarachi and partner Kaitlyn Christian made it all the way to the final as the No. 2 seed at the 2019 Luxembourg Open. The duo fell to tennis sensation Coco Gauff and her partner, Catherine McNally in straight sets in the Oct. 20 final.
In August, Guarachi qualified for her sixth consecutive Grand Slam after making it all the way to the Round of 16 in doubles of the 2019 U.S. Open appearance. The two doubles wins were the first Grand Slam victories of her career. She has also competed in the 2019 Wimbledon, 2019 French Open, 2019 Australian Open, 2018 U.S. Open and 2018 Wimbledon.
