Alabama Softball Earns NFCA South Region Coaching Staff of the Year Honors

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The National Fastpitch Coaches Association announced its 11 Regional Coaching Staff of the Year recipients Tuesday, with Alabama's staff earning its 11th South Region honor.
The Crimson Tide was led this season by head coach Patrick Murphy, associate head coach Alyson Habetz, assistant coach Stephanie VanBrakle Prothro, volunteer assistant Brynne Dordel and director of operations Kate Harris. Earlier this season, Murphy was named the Southeastern Conference Coach of the Year.
The accolade is the 11th for Alabama, last earning the distinction in 2016. The Tide finished the season with a 60-10 record, posting the most wins of any team in Division-I softball. Alabama won its sixth SEC regular-season title, finishing with an 18-6 conference record, and made its 12th Women's College World Series appearance.
