
Alexa Guarachi Takes Home Gold for Chile in Mixed Doubles at 2019 Pan American Games

LIMA, Peru – Former Alabama women's tennis star Alexa Guarachi took home a gold medal in mixed doubles with partner Nicolas Jarry, while representing Chile at the 2019 Pan American Games on Saturday in Lima, Peru.
HIGHLIGHTS
- Guarachi and Jarry (Chile) seized the momentum early on in the final against Noelia Zeballos and Federico Zeballos (Bolivia), after cruising 6-1 in the first set. The duo continued to put on the pressure and won the second set, 6-3, to clinch the gold.
- The duo defeated all of its opponents in straight sets. The two bested Andrea Weedon and Wilfredo Gonzalez (Guatemala) in the semifinal, 6-1, 6-2, before taking down Maria Osorio and Santiago Gilrado (Colombia), 6-2, 6-3, in the opening quarterfinal on Aug. 1.
- Guarachi also finished fourth in women's doubles with partner Daniela Seguel.
