Alabama Softball Closes Fall Ball with Two Wins over Wallace State

The Crimson Tide sweep the doubleheader to close out its fall season
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Alabama softball closed out its fall schedule Sunday at Rhoads Stadium with a pair of wins over Wallace State.
Alabama won the first game of the doubleheader, 5-1, behind a complete game in the circle from Lexi Kilfoyl with just one run allowed on two hits with nine strikeouts. Abby Doerr drove in the Tide's first run of the day with an RBI double in the first. The remaining four runs all came in the fourth inning on an Aubrey Barnhart RBI single, Kilfoyl RBI double and two-run single from Ashley Prange.
With two in scoring position in the bottom of the third in game two, the Wallace State first baseman fielded a grounder, tagged first and tried to throw home but the toss went past the bag, allowing two runs to score and make it 2-0. A solo home run from Ally Shipman in the fourth made it 3-0 and the Tide tacked on three more in the fifth to make it 6-0, which proved final. Alex Salter threw 6.0 shutout innings with 11 strikeouts while Montana Fouts entered in the seventh and struck out the side.
Game One Highlights

- Ally Shipman launched her first home run of the fall, a fourth-inning solo shot that was part of a 2-for-3 day
- A bases-loaded walk from Meagan Bloodworth and a two-run single from Barnhart tacked on three more runs in the fifth
