
Alabama Women’s Tennis’ Bencheikh, Hiser Fall in Three Sets at ITA National Fall Championships

The Crimson Tide duo will compete in the consolation Round of 16 on Friday
SAN DIEGO, Calif. – Alabama women's tennis' Loudmilla Bencheikh and Anne Marie Hiser fell in a three-set heartbreaker in the Round of 32 at the ITA National Fall Championships at the Barnes Tennis Center in San Diego, Calif.
Bencheikh and Hiser posted a come-from-behind victory in the opening set. After dropping the first two games to Miska Kadleckova and Sofia Cabezas from Iowa State, the Crimson Tide duo rallied to win the next four points to move ahead 4-2. The two teams traded points as Bencheikh and Hiser fought to take a 6-4 decision.
Despite jumping out to an early 3-1 lead, Bencheikh and Hiser fell 7-6(4) in a contested second set to force a third-set tiebreaker. The UA duo battled but lost in a 10-4 decision in the third set.

Bencheikh and Hiser will compete in the consolation Round of 16 Friday at 10:30 p.m. CT. The UA duo will battle Isabella Tcherkes-Zade and Wiktoria Rutowska from Loyola Marymount.
