TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Alabama softball added a pair of transfers in infielder Ashley Prange and catcher Ally Shipman who will join the Crimson Tide for the 2022 season.
"We are so happy to have these two outstanding young ladies join our program," UA head coach Patrick Murphy said. "They will provide experience, leadership and extreme passion for the game. Off the field, both Ashley and Ally will carry on the tradition of academic excellence that Alabama softball strives for. Our entire staff is very excited about #Team26."
Prange hit .306 over 103 games in three years at Ohio State, scoring 57 runs with 24 doubles, 18 home runs and 72 RBIs. She hit a career-high .403 during the shortened 2020 season, tied for the team lead, and was one of five Tennessee players to hit above .300 in 2021, finishing second on the team with 39 RBIs. Over three games at the 2021 SEC Tournament, she went 5-for-10 including a solo home run that made the difference in a 1-0 win over SEC regular-season champion Arkansas in the quarterfinal round.
