Alabama Women's Tennis Has Strong Showing On Day Three Of ITA Southern Regional Championships

The Crimson Tide captured four singles wins and a pair of doubles victories on the third day of action
BATON ROUGE, La. – The Alabama women's tennis team wrapped up day three of the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Southern Regional Championships Saturday at the LSU Tennis Complex and LSU UREC Tennis Courts.
Singles
- Loudmilla Bencheikh competed against Troy's Kristina Kukaras in the round of 32 of the main draw, winning 6-2, 6-2
- Bencheikh then advanced to the round of 16 where she beat Kelsey Mize of Ole Miss 6-2, 7-6(5)
- Petra Sedlackova also competed in both rounds of the main draw where she came out with a win in both matches
- Sedlackova first played Clara Tardivel of Southern Miss, winning 6-2, 6-0,
- Next, she took on Jacksonville State's Serafima Shastova and won 7-6(8), 1-6, 7-6(5)
- Klara Milicevic defeated Brooke Theis of Tulane 4-6, 6-3, 10-3 in consolation play
Main Draw Doubles
- Ola Pitak and Kasia Pitak defeated South Alabama's Luminita Tutunaru and Elysia Pool 8-5, advancing to the next round of the main draw
- Anna Parkhomenko and Petra Sedlackova took on Irene Artigas Taberner and Polina Ramenskaja of Jacksonville State, beating them 8-1

- Bencheikh and Sedlackova will continue action Sunday in the singles main draw Sunday at 10 a.m. CT
Next In Doubles
- Ola Pitak and Kasia Pitak will play Lahari Yelamanchili and Charlotte Russell of Tulane Sunday at 1 p.m. CT
- Anna Parkhomenko and Petra Sedlackova are going against LSU's Safiya Carrington and Nina Geissler Sunday 1 p.m. CT
