Alabama Women's Tennis Concludes Day One of Roberta Alison Fall Classic

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The Alabama women's tennis team picked up numerous wins on Friday's first day of the Roberta Alison Fall Classic at the Alabama Tennis Stadium.

Petra Sedlackova and Ola Pitak each went 2-0 in their singles matches to lead the Crimson Tide on day one.

Titia Wilmink/Marouschka van Dijk Doubles Draw

Petra Sedlackova and Anna Parkhomenko defeated Saby Nihalani and Xiaowei "Rose" Hu (Indiana), 7-5
The duo will compete Saturday against Luminita Tutunaru and Tereza Dejnozkova (South Alabama) in the semifinals

Alexa Guarachi/Mary Anne Macfarlane Doubles Draw

Ola Pitak and Kasia Pitak defeated Ralitsa Alexandrova and Mariya Shumeika (ETSU), 6-1
In Saturday's semifinals the Pitaks will compete against Kristina Kukaras and Hagar Ramadan (Troy)

Maya Jansen/Erin Routliffe Doubles Draw

In round one Tess Menten (Stetson) and Valeria Avdeeva (Troy) downed Alabama's Sydney Orefice and Rebeka Kern, 6-2
Round two will feature Orefice and Kern taking on Otoha Aoki and Caraline Scheufler (South Alabama)
Orefice and Kern will also compete against Sean Mullen and Jiayun Zhu (Tulane) in the third round

Dominique Glinzler Singles Draw

In the opening round Petra Sedlackova bettered Luminita Tutunaru (South Alabama), 6-2, 6-1
Sedlackova then one-upped Lahari Yelamachili (Tulane) in three sets, 5-7, 6-3, 10-2
In other Tide action, Loudmilla Bencheikh defeated Alanna Di Francesco (Stetson), 4-6, 6-3, 10-6
Bencheikh then defeated Adelaide Lavery (Tulane), 7-5, 6-3

Keith Swindoll Singles Draw

Ola Pitak defeated Sabhyata Nihalani (Indiana), 6-4, 3-6, 10-7
Pitak then went on to defeat Kristen Borland (Tulane), 6-2, 6-3
Saturday will feature Pitak competing against Ayshe Can (Michigan State) in the finals

Patti Farmer Singles Draw

Kristina Kukaras (Troy) defeated Klara Milicevic, 2-6, 6-3, 10-8
Milicevic went on to the consolation bracket where she defeated Liisa Vehvilainen (Michigan State), 6-2, 6-4
Milicevic will compete against Adela Wasserbauerova in Saturday's constellation finals

Beth Cleino Singles Draw

Anna Parkhomenko opened with a win over Pilar Astigarrga Harper (Stetson), 6-0, 6-1
In the semifinals, Mila Mejoc (Indiana) was better than Parkhomenko, 7-6 (4), 6-4
Parkhomenko will compete against Mariya Shumeika (ETSU) on Saturday for the third seed

Nancy Pate Singles Draw

In the opening round Lauren Lemonds (Indiana) defeated Rebeka Kern, 6-4, 6-4
Kern advanced to the finals of the constellation bracket via a bye where she will take on Cora Barber (Tulane)

Jean Mills Singles Draw

In the first round Sean Mullen (Tulane) defeated Sydney Orefice, 6-4, 6-3
Orefice then fell in the second round to Tess Menten (Stetson), 2-6, 6-3, 10-6
