
McCleney and Fouts Open Play with USA Softball at Pan American Games Sunday

Team USA will compete in Group A alongside Chile, Mexico and Venezuela
SANTIAGO, Chile – Alabama softball alums Haylie McCleney and Montana Fouts along with the rest of Team USA are set to open competition at the 2023 Pan American Games Sunday, Oct. 29 in Santiago, Chile.
Team USA will compete in Group A alongside Chile, Mexico and Venezuela, opening against Chile at 2 p.m. CT on Sunday, Oct. 29 before continuing against Venezuela on Monday, Oct. 30 at 11 a.m. CT and Mexico on Wednesday, Nov. 1 at 11 a.m. CT. From there, the Super Round takes place on Thursday, Nov. 2 and Friday, Nov. 3 before the week concludes with the Medal Round on Saturday, Nov. 4. Opponents and game times for the Super and Medal rounds are TBD.
Alabama is one of four programs with at least two current or former players represented on Team USA's roster. McCleney has competed with Team USA since 2014, including a silver medal in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. This will be Fouts' second year competing with Team USA, previously helping guide the team to a gold medal at last summer's World Games in Birmingham, Ala.
